“Every step I have taken in my life has led me here, now”
When redeeming points and miles my main usage is usually for hotels and flights. However, the other evening, July 28th, I redeemed 12,500 of my SPG (Starwood Preferred Guest) points for an SPG Moments experience. This was two tickets to SPG’s Suite at Wrigley Field for the Cubs game. To read more on SPG Moments, click here. This post is about the Suite and the experience, it’s not about SPG Moments or the Cubs. Let’s start with unlimited drinks and beer they provide.
When thinking about hotel points and airline miles there is usually one thing that come to mind, hotel stays or flights. However, some hotel groups or airlines offer more ways to use their points. Some of them you can redeem points for products, some have auctions for once in a lifetime experiences, etc.
In my opinion, I believe that most of the time you get the most value from your points or miles when redeeming for actual hotels or flights. However, there are some times when using points for things other than hotels can possibly justify the expense. This is where SPG Moments or even other auctions fall into place.
Once upon a time there were car service’s known as taxi’s. These taxi’s would take you where you needed to go and when you needed to go. However, a few years ago, a small group of friends started a small ride sharing app which now evolved into what is know as Uber. We all use Uber, but if you haven’t had a chance to try Uber yet, you can sign up and get $20 off your first ride.
As I am currently listening to the hold music of Singapore Airlines I decided to start writing.
While the trips I take are mostly fun and exciting, the booking process is not always the same. When people want to go on vacation, they usually go to the airline’s website, Kayak, Orbitz, etc, and would just book a paid ticket. But, for the people who don’t like to spend their hard earned money, they would go about it similarly but by using miles. When using these miles, one would go to the airline’s website that he or she has the points with, searches for availability, and book depending on what is seen there.
That process is wrong!!!
For the past two weeks, I have been wearing and experiencing the Pebble Steel. The Pebble Steel, for anyone who doesn’t know, is a smartwatch. Just quickly, a smartwatch is a watch that you wear on your wrist, and besides for the normal watch features, also enables you to get more functions on it and notifications from your phone. Basically, it can be seen as a screen relay of your phone.
When thinking about Twitter, what do you initially think of? Is it a social platform, a news source, or to contact customer service? If none of those, what else?
After thinking about these options, I think it would be safe to say that Twitter, or even Facebook, can one way or another fall under all of these categories. In this post, I want to review the type of solutions that twitter can provide.
Over the past few days, weeks, months, many have came up to me and asked: “Why don’t you blog, post, or do something where you can share your info?”
My answer: Here you go. That simple.
While some might YES or YAY, be warned, this won’t be a blog about every little thing or secret out there, and I won’t be posting about every little news piece that comes out every 5 minutes. Instead I will be posting three simple categories: Daily Life, Travel, & Technology.
